Message from RAF Croughton/US Visiting Forces Support Group

We’d like to make you aware of some temporary changes you may notice at RAF Croughton from today onwards. In light of current real-world events, the base will be taking precautionary steps to ensure the personnel and facilities remain prepared and secure.
As a result, you may observe an increased security presence at the base, including personnel carrying weapons. You may also hear or see training exercises taking place on site. The ‘Giant Voice’ tannoy system will be used frequently to broadcast emergency messages as part of these exercises. We want to reassure you that these are training exercises and there is no immediate threat to the base or surrounding community. These measures are part of drills designed to ensure readiness and reflect the current global situation.
Please share this information within the local community as soon as possible to help ensure awareness and to minimise any potential alarm or confusion.
