Wanted and For Sale

On this page you can place small advertisements for items wanted or for sale. This service is provided free of charge only to individuals living in Steeple and Middle Aston. It is not available to businesses, which can be included in the Local Directory if they are based in the village or provide goods and services to the village.

To place an advert, please email editor@steepleaston.org.uk. Remember to include either a phone number or email address. Adverts will normally stay on the site for a maximum of one month.

If you'd like to recycle your goods or give them away for free, you can advertise them on Freebay in the Village Forum.

Steeple Aston Players need help

Rehearsals are now under way for local playwright Paul Ekert's play "Dating by the Book", which is to be performed in the Village Hall on 22nd, 23rd and 24th March at 7.30pm.

A number of Players have already offered to help with those crucial back stage and front of house jobs, but more help is required. They need people to help out with the following:
. Bar and refreshments
. Programme sales
. Stage hands

Pre-school looking for "older, wiser" volunteers

End of term

The staff of Steeple Aston Pre-School in Fir Lane are looking for some older, wiser members of the community who may have a few hours spare to come into preschool and either:
Read to the children.
Knit or sew with the children.
Help the children plant seeds or plants.
or
Paint with the children.

Revised edition of village booklet

A new edition of Jean Stone's booklet, A Stroll Through Steeple Aston is available in the Village Shop, price £4. This revised edition has been updated from the original 1999 publication and has a whole new set of photographs.

The purpose of the the booklet is to take you round the village pointing out items of interest and historical significance along the way. The walk starts at Hopcrofts Holt and finishes at Brasenose Farm, but you can do it in sections, or indeed the other way round if you want. There's a map of the village in the centre fold.
