Students, trainees can apply for financial help

The Dr Radcliffe’s Trust is once again inviting local students and trainees to apply for financial assistance with their education or training.

The Trust makes awards annually to help young people under the age of 25. The awards are open to all those who are permanently resident in the parishes of Steeple Aston and Middle Aston, or who have attended Dr Radcliffe’s School in Steeple Aston for at least two years.

The awards are for educational purposes, mostly at post-school stage, to young people in further or higher education, on apprenticeships or formal job training. They will not normally cover school fees, but will provide modest sums to meet needs for extra items.

In the past awards have been made for school field trips, tools and equipment for apprenticeship or training, uniforms for trainees, music lessons where good standards can be demonstrated, field and study trips at school and college, and books and equipment for students at college or university.

The trustees reserve the right to exercise their discretion whether to grant an award or not, and will give particular importance to financial need.

Applications for an award during the coming academic year should be received before 1st November..
