I use Adobe Photoshop Essentials for some of my editing. Trouble is that every time I load new photos to the computer from my camera Photoshop starts up automatically. Is there any way I can shut it off so it only starts up when I want it to ?

John,
I use Photoshop Elements all the time, but it's a very early version (Elements 2) and may be different from yours.
I've never had the problem you describe, but it appears from a bit of googling that plenty of other people have.
You might like to look at these weblinks and see if they can help find a solution.
