Lost and Found

On this page you can tell us about anything you have lost - an object, an animal, or even a person. We have had several emails from people trying to trace friends and relations they have lost touch with. You can also publicise the fact that you have found something which might belong to a villager. This service is free to residents of Steeple and Middle Aston, and those trying to contact them.

To place a lost or found message on this page, please email editor@steepleaston.org.uk. Remember to include either an email address or a phone number. Messages will normally stay on the site for a maximum of one month.

The missing history of Bladebone House - can you help?

We bought what is now Bladebone House on Paines Hill, which used to be Town House and before that Bladebone Hall, then on South Street in July 2005. Before the Elder family who we bought from, and as is well known in the village, the Walton family lived here for a number of generations. We know some of the history of the house, but are unable to recover the original deeds, which dated back to the early 1800s. New ones were drawn up when the land and house were sold separately. We have tried in vain to find the whereabouts of these to no avail.

We would love to know more about the history of our home and would welcome any photographs outside or inside, stories or memories from by-gone years; and would be so grateful if you could share them with us. We would also be so pleased if we were able to trace the missing deeds or if anyone can give us advice on how to find them.

The Tosh Family,

Tosh, Amanda, Joe, Jack & Hannah
